PRN- CT Operator/Technician- NO CALL/Weekends/Nights/Holidays

Summary

The CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality CT (Computed Tomography) imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, patient-centered care, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Duties/

Responsibilities

• Perform CT examinations according to established protocols and physician orders.

• Operate and maintain CT imaging equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety.

• Position patients correctly to obtain optimal images while ensuring comfort and safety.

• Evaluate images for technical quality and accuracy before submission to radiologists.

• Follow radiation safety standards to minimize exposure for patients and staff.

• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare staff to coordinate efficient patient care.

• Obtain and verify patient medical history, screening information, and necessary consent forms.

• Start IV lines and administer contrast media per protocol, monitoring patients for adverse reactions.

• Maintain accurate documentation, including patient records, exam logs, and equipment maintenance reports.

• Assist in training and orienting new staff or students when needed.

• Adhere to all hospital, state, and federal regulations, including HIPAA and safety guidelines.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.

• Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology or CT program.

• ARRT (R) and/or ARRT (CT) certification required or eligible; must maintain active certification.

• Valid state radiologic technologist license (if applicable).

• BLS certification required (ACLS may be preferred).

• Prior CT experience preferred; new graduates considered depending on facility needs.

Physical Requirements

• Exposure to radiation, infectious diseases, and bodily fluids with proper protective measures in place.

• Prolonged periods of standing and working on a computer.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Pay: $42.00 - $45.00 per hour
