Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Department, including rapid assessment, triage, and ongoing monitoring of diverse patient populations.
- Administer medications, perform IV therapy, manage fluids, and assist with procedures as directed by the attending team.
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary staff during resuscitations, trauma responses, and high-acuity events; implement care plans and follow orders promptly.
- Monitor vital signs, interpret clinical data, respond to deterioration, and coordinate patient safety, comfort, and discharge planning.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in the EPIC EMR; ensure timely and complete charting to support continuity of care.
- Provide age-appropriate care for newborns, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric patients; adapt care to episodic ED workflows and crowding scenarios.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license for New York with Nursys verification; ability to verify all RN licenses as needed.
- 2+ years of Emergency Department nursing experience, with some pediatric exposure; documented travel experience required.
- Current AHA
certifications
ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS; TNCC certification required to be in hand.
- EPIC EMR experience and proven documentation competence.
- Driver’s license with address matching demographics; RTO (time-off) requests must be included at submission.
Education
Nursing degree from an accredited program; RN licensure.
