Job Summary

Best Care Home Services is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide skilled nursing care for a pediatric client with developmental disorders. This role is ideal for a nurse who is patient, observant, and committed to delivering consistent, high-quality care in a home setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver skilled nursing care in accordance with the physician’s plan of care
  • Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies as ordered
  • Monitor and support the patient’s developmental and medical needs
  • Communicate effectively with family members and the care team
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment

Observation Expectations

  • Monitor for subtle physical, behavioral, and developmental changes
  • Recognize non-verbal cues and patterns specific to pediatric developmental disorders
  • Identify and report early signs of complications or changes in condition
  • Maintain constant awareness of the patient’s baseline and deviations

Documentation Expectations

  • Complete timely, accurate, and detailed nursing notes for every shift
  • Clearly document assessments, interventions, and patient responses
  • Record all changes in condition, communication with providers, and caregiver updates
  • Ensure documentation meets state, Medicaid, and home health regulatory standards
  • Support audit readiness and continuity of care through thorough charting
  • Qualifications
  • Current, active RN or LPN license in South Carolina
  • Current CPR certification
  • Pediatric experience required (1 year minimum)
  • Experience with developmental disorders strongly preferred
  • Home health or private duty nursing experience is a plus
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities
