Nurse Practitioner - Inpatient Psychiatry & Psychology

The scope of work will involve working as an integral team member of a multidisciplinary team encompassing nursing staff, social services, and physicians. This nocturnist position will be a seven-on/seven-off hospitalist-style schedule. This is a remote position and a psychiatrist will be available to comply with licensing requirements.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate interest and comfort working with patients with psychiatric illness. During the selection process you may participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience. During the OnDemand interview, a question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider each question before responding.

You will have the opportunity to re-record your answer to each question – Mayo Clinic will only see the final recording. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next steps. New Grads will not be considered at this time.

Must have 2 years of inpatient psychiatric experience as a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner. Nurse Practitioner: Masters or Doctorate-prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program with Current Wisconsin and Minnesota RN and APRN licenses and certifications. Preference given to candidates with a PMHNP (Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner certification).

Must have current BLS certification and be eligible for DEA registration. Excellent verbal, written, and oral communication skills. Demonstrated leadership ability.

Flexibility to adjust schedule to meet patient and staff needs. Ability to manage time and stress effectively and adapt to unpredictable situations within the patient care setting.
