Travel Licensed Practical Nurse

Provide comprehensive nursing care by performing physical examinations, vital sign assessments, and patient history documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic or Cerner. Administer medications and injections accurately, including IV infusion and catheterization procedures, adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques. Assist with complex medical procedures such as airway management, venipuncture, tube feeding, and spinal taps in various clinical settings.

Monitor patients' physiological status, including respiratory function on ventilators or neonatal ventilators, and manage acute pain or infectious disease cases with appropriate interventions. Conduct diagnostic evaluations through specimen collection/processing and coordinate with laboratory services; utilize ICD-9/ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation. Implement discharge planning, case management strategies, and provide education on disease management such as dementia care or Alzheimer's care for diverse populations.

Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in emergency rooms, ICU (Intensive Care Unit), PICU (Pediatric ICU), or trauma centers to deliver urgent and acute care. Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and sterile processing standards across all settings. Maintain detailed medical records, document patient care activities thoroughly, and ensure all documentation meets NCQA standards.

Participate in ongoing training related to medical terminology, physiology knowledge, and specialized areas such as hospice care or geriatrics to enhance patient outcomes.

*Experience*

Minimum of two years of nursing experience in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, emergency medicine, ICU, or medical-surgical units is required. Prior experience working with electronic health record systems like Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is essential for efficient documentation. Demonstrated proficiency in critical care procedures including airway management, IV insertion, catheter care, and pain management techniques.

Experience in long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living communities is highly desirable. Knowledge of ICD-9/ICD-10 coding standards and CPT coding for accurate medical documentation is preferred. Previous exposure to pediatric (including neonatal ventilator) or neonatal intensive care units (NICU) enhances candidacy; familiarity with pediatric assessments is advantageous.
