About this role
Staff Nurse position in the Operating Room Gynecology Team at University of Iowa Health Care. Nurses provide patient care under the supervision of the Nurse Manager in 42 operating rooms dedicated to adult surgical specialties. Duties include applying nursing theory to assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patient responses; developing patient care plans; implementing nursing interventions; and coordinating continuum of care. Position is 50% to 100% time with 8, 9, 10, or
- 12 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with on-call rotation for weekends, nights, and holidays.

- An associate degree in Nursing, a Diploma in Nursing, a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, Professional Masters of Nursing and Healthcare Practice (MNHP, MSN/Clinical Nurse Leader or a Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills with patients/families, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members as demonstrated through written and verbal interactions. General computer skills are required. Current license to practice nursing in State of Iowa is required by date of hire. Current BLS certification or completion within 6 months of employment is required.
