About this role

We’re currently seeking a Nurse Manager to join The 6 North Medical Telemetry team at Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas; The #1 one city in the nation for Nursing opportunities and advancement!

Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

The 6 North Medical Telemetry Unit is a 38-bed unit focused on providing a high level of direct and individualized care. This unit offers you with ample learning opportunities with a full spectrum of medical diagnoses and comorbidities.

A varied medical/telemetry population including

  • Sepsis
  • Pulmonary Conditions or Respiratory Distress
  • Chest Pain
  • Infection
  • Patients requiring isolation; including to negative airflow rooms
  • Patients requiring skin and wound care including wound vacs
  • Patients requiring scopes, thoracentesis, lumbar puncture, central line placement, paracentesis, angio-cath, pacemaker insertions and chest tubes.
  • Enteral Feeding Tube Insertion and Maintenance
  • Patients requiring Cardiac monitoring
  • GI abnormalities
  • Trach care
  • Genitourinary abnormalities

Job Summary

As Nursing Manager, you shape a positive team environment, ensure high-quality nursing practices, teamwork, and patient safety. You create plans, implement policies, manage resources, oversee finances, and manage quality improvement efforts. Arrange educational programs to meet goals and act as caregiver when needed.

Formulate and communicate a clear vision for nursing practices within your area of responsibility.

Involve supervisory and other staff in setting and accomplishing departmental goals.

Continually update your knowledge base with the latest evidence-backed clinical and leadership practices.

Foster a healing and supportive environment for patients, families, and fellow staff members.

Recognize development needs and facilitate educational opportunities for staff members.

Set a positive example of professionalism within the nursing field and work atmosphere.

Incorporate the organization's mission and goals into strategies for staff and patient care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • A minimum of three years' professional experience is required for this role.
  • RN licensed.
  • You also need Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days on the job.
