About this role

Career Land Center is hiring on behalf of a combined pediatric and adult healthcare organization in Denver, CO for a Director of Neonatal ICU. The organization includes a dedicated pediatric facility and a Level IV NICU serving the region's most critically ill neonates — including those with advanced respiratory needs, prematurity, and surgical conditions — alongside a lower-acuity NICU focused on feeding, growth, and discharge readiness.

The Role

Read the full posting

Reporting to nursing executive leadership, this director holds full operational responsibility for care delivery across a 40-bed Level IV NICU, leading a team of approximately 60 FTEs. The director works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, including close coordination with the Level II NICU, to drive an integrated model of person-centered care, establish clinical practice standards, and ensure compliance with quality, licensing, and accreditation requirements. This role promotes evidence-based practice, measures budgetary performance, and partners with nursing leadership on operational improvements, with the possibility of providing direct patient care when clinically needed.

Denver runs about 6% above the national average on cost of living — a premium RNs offset with foothills sun, craft breweries along South Broadway, and weekend escapes to Red Rocks and Rocky Mountain National Park. Settle in LoHi for walkable dinners or Washington Park for tree-lined running loops. The altitude just means better cardio.
