Your future role at a glance: Location: Chicago, IL Facility: Ascension Saint Joseph Department: Wound Care Schedule: Day shift | Full-time Salary range: $88,263.95 - $124,602.44 per year How you'll make an impact in this role: Spearhead and launch the new wound care program at Saint Joseph Hospital Chicago, serving as the clinical Subject Matter Expert (SME) to establish standardized care protocols and lead quality improvement initiatives that reduce readmissions. Train, mentor, and educate floor nurses across RN units on advanced wound assessment, staging, dressing selection, and prevention strategies to build unit-level clinical expertise. Deliver hands-on specialized wound care during program rollout, transitioning to a primary role of complex clinical consultation, interdisciplinary coordination with physicians and case management, and program oversight. Manage comprehensive patient care plans and discharge planning needs, developing targeted patient education materials to ensure seamless post-acute transitions and empower self-care. What minimum qualifications you'll need: Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Certification specializing in Wound Care credentialed from the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCCB) preferred. Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR required professional licensure at time of hire.
