About this role

This job provides administrative/clinical support to facilitate the delivery of patient care based on the nursing process. Assists in the monitoring of quality care by ensuring the efficient use of resources. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Bachelor's Degree Science of Nursing (BSN) required for all Ochsner Magnet Facilities. Work Experience Required - 3 of years of RN experience. Preferred - Critical care or charge nurse experience.

Certifications Required - Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice. Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Preferred - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and CCRN.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs) - Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications. - Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process. - Strong conflict resolution skills. - Excellent interpersonal skills. - Ability to move throughout the department, the hospital, and between off-campus sites. Job Duties - Serves as a resource to the nursing staff in the delivery of patient care. - Rounds frequently throughout the shift identifying issues that need administrative action and communication forward to appropriate level. - Supervises and leads staff effectively. - Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in assigned area. - Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style. - Performs other related duties as required.
