Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adults with psychiatric and behavioral health diagnoses in an inpatient setting.
- Perform crisis intervention, de-escalation, and behavior management; apply seclusion/restraint protocols per policy when needed.
- Administer psychotropic medications, mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, and anxiolytics; document administration in the EMR.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments; identify and manage suicidal or self-injurious behavior and substance-use issues; ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV teams, PT, Respiratory, Social Services, Pharmacy, Radiology, interpretation, unit secretaries) and participate in rapid response as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate charting in the EMR and support an adaptable, high-stress clinical environment.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Idaho
- Minimum 1 year RN experience; prior behavioral health/inpatient psychiatry experience preferred
- Required
certifications
BLS, cpi, mab
- EMR/charting experience required (system name not specified)
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts; strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and adaptability
- 100-mile radius rule: traveler must reside at least 100 miles from the assignment location
