We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Worker/Residential Care Technician to join our team. - Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health stability.
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols while maintaining accurate documentation in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
- Support residents with dementia or cognitive disabilities through specialized memory care techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Operate manual handling equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and prevent injury.
- Prepare nutritious meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and assist residents during meal times as needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment by adhering to sanitation standards and infection control procedures.
- Uphold residents’ rights by respecting their dignity, privacy, and individual preferences at all times.
- Engage in safe patient lifting practices and heavy lifting techniques to prevent injury for both staff and residents.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, family members, and team members to ensure comprehensive resident care.
Experience
- Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory support strategies, and behavior management techniques.
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and the use of EMR systems for documentation.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments within home or community settings.
- Strong background in geriatrics or senior care environments with an understanding of client rights and safety protocols.
- Proven ability to perform safe patient lifting practices using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or other manual handling tools.
- Experience in providing compassionate caregiving services including meal preparation, cleaning, and personal support activities.
