Windham Hospital is proud to offer a Nurse Residency program to help newly licensed nurses successfully transition into clinical practice by providing support, resources and mentorship. We care about you and are committed to empower you to successfully navigate your professional nursing journey. We have partnered with the Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency Program™ to provide resources to help new nurses gain confidence and increase competence during this 12-month program.
Your well-being as a new nurse is enhanced through hands-on training and processing clinical experiences. Nurse Residents will be hired directly to a specialty area where they will receive focused clinical education. The positions offered vary based on the needs of the hospital and may include Med / Surg / Telemetry, Emergency and Operating Room.
In addition to clinical immersion on the unit, Nurse Residents meet in a classroom format to share experiences and receive additional education and training.
Who is enrolled in a nurse residency program?
- Every newly licensed RN (completion of NCLEX with active CT RN license) with less than one-year experience
- Program enrollment is based on hire date
