About this role

At Northbay Health, a Registered Nurse in the Center for Wound Care will provide safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care to our patients following Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, the Relationship Based Care, and the Northbay’s professional nursing practice model. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care for all patients assigned to your care. You will also use a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient and their family along with your interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health for the patient.

Education

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing
  • Nursing degree of BSN level or higher is required. (excludes grandfathered employees)

License and

Certifications

  • Valid, current and unencumbered RN license by the State of California.
  • Current AHA or AHA equivalent BLS and ACLS required.

Must have Telemetry certification within 3 months of employment.

Experience, Knowledge, and

Skills

  • A minimum of six months acute care (hospital) RN experience required
  • 6 months wound care and ostomy experience preferred
  • Demonstrates skills in the following area including but not limited to: basic wound care skills, knowledge of advance wound care treatment modalities, lower extremity compression therapy, negative pressure wound therapy, ankle-brachial index screening; peripheral vascular screening, knowledge of indications for hyperbaric oxygen therapy, knowledge of use and application of total contact cast, knowledge and skill in ostomy care, knowledge and treatment of diabetic, arterial, venous, and pressure ulcers including post-operative and traumatic wounds
  • Ability to provide inpatient wound and ostomy consultation including pressure ulcer staging independently
  • Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills.

Other

  • All RNs in the Patient Care Services Department are required to wear Graphite (Dark Gray) colored scrubs per the professional appearance policy.

Compensation Structure

NorthBay Health uses a structured compensation framework. Staff-level positions use a step-based system (Steps 1–5) based on years of directly related experience, with Step 5 representing 20 or more years of experience in the role. Manager level and above positions are paid a fixed annual base salary and are eligible for a variable incentive compensation plan. Physician compensation is structured based on specialty and role requirements.
