Burnout & wellbeing
Burnout in nursing is structural before it is personal. Ratios, scheduling, orientation quality, and unit culture do more to a nurse's year than any resilience tip. The guides here treat it that way: what to look for, what to ask, and when the right move is a different unit.42,221 nursing roles are open on the board right now.

Questions nurses ask
- Is burnout just part of nursing?
- It's common, not mandatory. Units differ enormously in staffing, support, and culture, and the difference shows up in how nurses feel a few months in. Where you work is a wellbeing decision.
- What should I ask about before taking a job?
- Ratios as stated, orientation length, float expectations, and how the unit covers sick calls. A manager who answers plainly is telling you something good.
- When is it time to leave a unit?
- When the problems are structural and stay that way after you've named them. A transfer or a new employer is a normal career move, and your experience travels with you.
