Antelope Valley Medical Center

The facility operates as part of the Antelope Valley Healthcare District, with a service area spanning more than 1,500 square miles. AVMC employs over 2,600 staff, supported by 450+ volunteers and more than 670 physicians across 66 specialties. The hospital is a significant economic engine for the local community. AVMC offers a wide array of services, several of which are exclusive within a 50-mile radius, including a Level II Trauma Center, a Level IIIB Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), a Pediatric unit, and an Emergency Department. In February 2025, the hospital unveiled updated mission and vision statements reflecting a renewed commitment to innovative, compassionate care. CEO Edward Mirzabegian emphasized that these updates resulted from collaborative reflection involving staff, patients, and stakeholders over seven months. For nurses, AVMC presents opportunities to work in a high-acuity, full-service setting with specialized units such as trauma and NICU, offering complex clinical experiences.
