That expansion added about 290,000 square feet, 96 medical-surgical beds and 18 observation beds (nearly doubling prior inpatient and observation capacity), all private rooms, a new emergency department with added x-ray, CT, and ultrasound, and a state-approved cardiac surgery program. New graduate nurses land here through the North-Northwest Suburbs Nursing Residency, with tailored orientation, monthly seminars, and mentor facilitators; you can apply before graduation and before NCLEX, then start on a biweekly cadence once you pass. Day to day, postings on this campus include full-time days PACU, and the system also runs Hospital at Home, where RNs treat acutely ill patients in the home inside a defined radius with an interdisciplinary team. Pay in recent RN postings clusters around $34.50–$55.20 an hour on Lake Forest and similar Chicago-area roles, with some ambulatory ranges a bit higher.
