Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate operating room Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dedicated surgical team. Your expertise will help optimize patient outcomes and enhance their overall experience. Hours are all day Tuesday and Wednesday and every other Friday morning for Lasik.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and patient education on procedures and post-op care
  • Prepare the surgical environment by ensuring all equipment, supplies, and sterile techniques are in place according to aseptic standards
  • Monitor patients closely during recovery, managing pain, observing for complications, and providing clear post-op instructions
  • Document all patient interactions accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans tailored to each patient's needs
  • Educate patients on medication administration, wound care, activity restrictions, and follow-up appointments to promote optimal healing

Skills

  • Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile processing in a surgical setting
  • Skilled in IV infusion, medication administration, and airway management during perioperative care
  • Familiarity with ophthalmology procedures
  • Ability to perform patient assessments with attention to detail in both preoperative and postoperative phases
  • Excellent communication skills for patient education and interdisciplinary collaboration

Pay: $34.00 - $38.00 per hour Work Location: In person
