Sentara Norfolk General is hiring a Full-Time Registered Nurse for the High-Risk Labor and Delivery Unit.

This is a rotating shift position, 36 hours per week.

Preferred applicants will have experience specifically in Labor and Delivery.

At Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, home to the region’s Level I Trauma Center and the Maternal Transfer Center for Hampton Roads, our Beacon award-winning Labor and Delivery Unit offers a fast-paced, high-acuity, and rewarding practice. Our nurses are cross trained to scrub, circulate, recover, and labor/deliver, providing comprehensive surgical and obstetrical care. Supported by a collaborative team of physicians, resident physicians, maternal-fetal medicine specialists, surgical techs, and administrative staff, we deliver seamless, patient-centered care.

As a teaching hospital for resident physicians, we provide hands-on learning opportunities, mentorship, and professional growth. Position Available

Full Time, 36 hours per week

Education

RN-Associate’s Degree

RN-Bachelor’s Degree

RN-Master’s Degree

License / Certification

Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing

Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire

NRP within 6 months of hire.

PALS within 6 months of hire.

Experience

Previous L & D experience preferred

The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as

  • shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital , located in Norfolk, VA, is a 525-bed tertiary care facility that is home to the only Level I Adult Trauma Center and burn trauma unit in Hampton Roads, and also serves as the primary teaching hospital for Eastern Virginia Medical School.

In addition to the high-quality heart program at Sentara Heart Hospital, our facility is home to Nightingale Regional Air Ambulance and several other dedicated facilities and specialized services.
