PART TIME OR/Clinic RN

• Assist plastic surgeons during operative procedures by preparing sterile fields, passing instruments, and ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques.
• Conduct comprehensive preoperative assessments, including vital signs, medical history review, and patient education on procedures and postoperative care.
• Manage intraoperative patient care by monitoring vital signs, maintaining airway patency, and responding promptly to emergent situations such as acute pain or airway compromise.
• Perform post-procedure duties including wound suturing, dressing changes, specimen collection/processing, and documenting all clinical activities accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Provide outpatient clinic support through patient triage, medication administration, teaching and education, assessments, and clinic care.
• Coordinate scheduling, diagnostics, referrals and follow-ups.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain the highest standards of infection control and sterile processing throughout all procedures.
• Educate patients on health coaching topics like nutrition, pain management, or post-discharge discharge planning to promote optimal recovery outcomes.
• Demonstrate proficiency in medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-10/ICD-9), CPT coding for procedures, and accurate medical documentation for legal and billing purposes.

*Experience*

Candidates should bring a robust background that includes

• RN license
• 1-2 years of first assist experience preferred.
• Ability to scrub and circulate in plastic surgery procedures.
• Proven experience in surgical settings such as operating rooms (OR), outpatient clinics, or ambulatory surgery centers with OR experience strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems.
• Hands-on skills in IV infusion, venipuncture (phlebotomy), catheterization (urinary or vascular), suturing techniques, and aseptic technique adherence.
• Knowledge of infectious disease protocols and infection control practices essential for safe perioperative environments.
