  • o Beds: 40

  • o Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years ICU experience

Patient Types/Common Diagnoses

o Ventilated Patients, stroke and thrombectomy patients, opti-flow, Bipaps, Overdose patients, endotool, CRRT, GI bleeds, some trauma patients

Patient Ratios

o RN: 1:1-3 Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance: o RN: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Skills required

o General ICU skillset: Critical care gtts experience insulin, vasopressors, sedation, management of invasive lines (ART/CVP), Cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, ventilator management, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, etc.

Support within the Department

o CNA - Assist with turning, feeding, ADL's, blood sugars, lab draws, mobility o No HUC/Receptionist o Charge nurse, 24/7 o Phlebotomy RN will be responsible; there is one person in the hospital that could be called upon o IV/VAT Team o RT 24/7 o Hospitalist 24/7 o Intensivist 24/7 o Telemetry monitoring - Hardwire monitors and travel tele boxes

Technology/Equipment

  • o EMR: EPIC
  • o IV Pump: Alaris
  • o Med dispensing: Omnicell
  • o Monitors: Phillips
  • o Unit specific equipment: Arctic Sun, Hemosphere, Belmont rapid transfuser, life flow

Floating

o Within region and scope of practice o Will be required to float per region needs will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice DECLINE if not agreeable Region 1 - Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, Central Division (CMC Main + Mercy + LCH (peds only) - could float to any of the facilities within region if the need arises If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock)

o Weekend rotation: every other o No call required o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours
