About this role

As the Hospice RN, Director of Nursing (DON), you will be responsible for overall administration of the clinical departments and monitoring of appropriate staffing and productivity. You will lead a team of skilled nurses and caregivers, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and customer service. Directs and coordinates clinical departments; assumes responsibility for continuity, quality, and safety of services delivered in compliance with state and federal regulations. Promotes the philosophy and administrative policies of the Hospice. Participates in activities relevant to professional services including development of qualifications and assignment of the Hospice personnel. Supervises and provides direction to subordinates. Monitors the QAPI Program and assures appropriate corrective measures are performed. Promotes compliance with all fiscal intermediary and/or other third-party payors. Participates as a member of the Interdisciplinary Group/Team (IDG/T).

Monitors systems and identifies problem areas to Administrator. Meets mandatory continuing education requirements. Promotes and educates regarding infection control and standard precautions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) preferred
  • Current license as a registered nurse (RN) in Texas and/or in accordance with the Board of Nurse
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with 1 year in a leadership role in hospice or palliative care
  • Strong understanding of hospice regulations and standards
  • Home Care Home Base experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of delivering excellent customer service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively
  • Reliable transportation. Valid and current auto liability insurance
