American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring PALS certification, 2+ years of PICU experience, and a VA or compact RN license.

Details

  • 13-week night shift assignment in the Pediatric ICU
  • Night shift (3x12 hours), 19:00-07:00, on a 36 or 48 hour schedule
  • 1:2 patient ratio
  • May be required to float to NICU and Acute Care Pediatrics based on staffing needs
  • Must work 2 of the 3 winter holidays
  • 3 weekends required per six-week schedule
  • Epic EMR experience required

  • Active VA or compact RN license (pending license accepted)
  • BLS and PALS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • BSN preferred
  • Peds cardiac experience a plus
  • Two professional references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Care for critically ill pediatric patients including respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and gastrointestinal support needs
  • Skills may include ventilator management, arterial line management, CRRT, ICP monitoring, and management of dysrhythmias
  • Up to 40 hours of RTO may be approved per 13-week contract, with no additional time off approved after offer acceptance
  • Time off cannot be approved during the first 2 weeks of the contract
  • Must float within scope of practice as needed based on facility staffing requirements
  • Previous UVA Health permanent staff or travelers must have a 1-year separation and leadership approval before returning
  • External travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
