Job

Summary

Performs primary nursing functions of assessing, planning, directing, and evaluating patient care in the emergency department to patients of all ages suffering from various types of illness or trauma. The RN serves as a professional role model by collaborating with clinical and front office staff, administration and other professional disciplines to ensure effective patient care is delivered to optimal patient outcomes.

Experience required

A minimum of 1 year of experience in an emergency department setting is required.

Experience preferred

A minimum of 2 years of experience in an emergency department setting is preferred.

Education required

Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of a minimum of two years education at an accredited School of Nursing in order to be eligible for licensure as a Registered Nurse is required.

Licensure required

Requires current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 30 days of hire.

American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required within 6 months of hire. American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) is required within one year of hire.

Licensure preferred

Trauma Nurse Course certification (TNCC) is preferred.
