Overview

The primary role of the RN Admissions Nurse is to assist with the clinical portions of referrals, provide support with orders/intake of charting and all evaluations and assessments on incoming residents. Monitor patients, implement treatments, develop patient care plans for long term needs, administer medications, follow up with families and provide the highest quality of care to all patients while staying in compliance with current federal, state, guidelines, and company’s regulations.

Qualifications

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university, or be a graduate of an approved RN program.
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state.
  • 1 year as an Admissions Nurse preferred but not required.
  • Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
  • This position requires the successful completion of a background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screening as part of the hiring process.
