About this role
The Urgent Care Physician Assistant works as part of an inter-professional team to provide efficient, high quality, cost effective care in the outpatient clinic setting, telehealth visit, and occupational medicine. Works under the supervision of a Medical Director and in a collaborative practice model within the scope of licensing and credentialing and in accordance with privileges allowed. Obtains patient history and performs assessments using interview, observation and physical examination and orders and interprets diagnostic testing as needed for patient care and provides direct patient care and management of health conditions utilizing prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers.
Participates in quality improvement initiatives, staff development and education, patient and patient caregiver education and assumes responsibility for professional development. Requirements
- Licensed in the state of practice as a Physician Assistant
- National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Certification
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification from the American Heart Association
- Eligible for Prescriptive Authority within the state of practice as outlined by the State Board of Nursing
- Licensed in the state of practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
- Family Nurse Practitioner ANCC/AANPCP certified or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC/AANPCP certified and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC/AANPCP certified
