About this role

The Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner works as part of an inter-professional team to provide efficient, high quality, cost effective care in the outpatient clinic setting, telehealth visit, and occupational medicine. Works under the supervision of a Medical Director and in a collaborative practice model within the scope of licensing and credentialing and in accordance with privileges allowed. Obtains patient history and performs assessments using interview, observation and physical examination and orders and interprets diagnostic testing as needed for patient care and provides direct patient care and management of health conditions utilizing prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers.

Participates in quality improvement initiatives, staff development and education, patient and patient caregiver education and assumes responsibility for professional development. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
