Position Summary

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide care for patients with a variety of behavioral health disorders whose ages range from adolescent through geriatric. The RN is an integral part of the interdisciplinary treatment team and collaborates with members of the team to develop and implement collaborative care plans.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

Provides direct care to patients on assigned unit. Administers and documents prescribed medications and treatments. Establishes therapeutic rapport with the patient, provides support and utilizes approved crisis intervention techniques.

Available Schedule

Day: 7:00am to 3:30pm

Qualifications

Education

Registered Nurse, graduate of an accredited nursing program. BS or BSN preferred

Experience

Minimum of three years of recent psychiatric nursing experience, preferably in psychosocial rehabilitation setting. Clinical and administrative experience in an inpatient and outpatient mental health setting preferred. Possesses general knowledge of all areas of psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment.

Age-Specific Competencies: Adult

Licensure/

Certification

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of South Carolina or maintains an RN license from a compact state. CPI/CPR certification required.

Other: Knowledge of professional nursing theory and practice to give and evaluate patient care. Knowledge of organizational policies and procedures to administer care. Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques of professional nursing to provide ongoing patient care. Ability to relate well with treatment professionals; Ability to mobilize and coordinate staff resources; skills in dealing courteously with the public and individuals within the organization and counseling centers; organizational skills; ability to keep information highly confidential; ability to meet deadlines; basic data entry skills preferred.
