Staff Registered Nurse

• Manage complex clinical procedures such as catheterization, suturing, tube feeding, ventilator management, and wound care.

• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic and Cerner to document patient information meticulously and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.

• Coordinate patient care plans through case management, discharge planning, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across specialties such as cardiology, ophthalmology, geriatrics, behavioral health, and trauma medicine.

• Conduct diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and medical imaging review (e.g., sonography).

• Lead triage assessments in urgent care or emergency settings, prioritizing patients based on acuity levels aligned with Level I & II trauma center standards.

• Educate patients and families on health coaching topics such as pain management, medication administration, nutrition, dementia care, hospice & palliative medicine, and developmental disabilities.

• Ensure infection control practices are rigorously followed to maintain sterile environments during procedures like sterile processing or ostomy care.

• Participate in quality improvement initiatives aligned with NCQA standards and ICD coding practices (ICD-9/10) for accurate documentation and billing.

## Experience

• Proven nursing experience in diverse clinical environments including hospital medicine, ICU/CCU/PICU settings, emergency room (ER), or trauma centers with Level I & II trauma center experience preferred.

• Critical care experience with ventilator management, acute pain management, airway management, neonatal resuscitation procedures (NRP), or neonatal ventilator use is highly desirable.

• Skilled in working with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems) such as Epic, Cerner or Athenahealth; experience with medical documentation is essential.

• Demonstrated ability to perform advanced clinical procedures including IV insertion/venipuncture, catheterization (urinary or central lines), phlebotomy, and laboratory specimen collection/processing.

• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays across settings like assisted living facilities or long-term care environments such as nursing homes or memory care units.

• Knowledge of Workers' Compensation law related to occupational health cases; familiarity with infectious disease care protocols is advantageous.

• Background in primary care or outpatient clinics involving family planning, dermatology (dermal fillers), esthetic laser treatment or outpatient surgery centers is a plus.

• Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology paired with excellent patient assessment skills to deliver safe and effective nursing interventions across pediatric to geriatric populations.
