Facility: Regency at Bluffs Park This position is a dual role that covers Staff Development and Infection Prevention The RN Staff Development Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating orientation, staff education and development programs to ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care in compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations. The RN Staff Development Coordinator supports quality outcomes, promotes evidence-based practice, and partners with leadership to foster a culture of safety, learning, and accountability. Join us with an attractive benefits offering: • Competitive pay • Medical, dental, and vision insurance • 401K with matching funds • Life Insurance • Employee discounts • Tuition Reimbursement • Student Loan Reimbursement Responsibilities: • Assesses the competencies and training of nursing care provided by Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified/State Tested Nursing Assistants. • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and applicable laws. • Supervisory responsibilities include: • Interviews, recommends hires, and trains LPNs and Certified/State Tested Nursing Assistants. • Plans, assigns, and directs work. • Prepares work assignment sheets, taking into consideration Resident safety, the educational preparation, experience, knowledge, and ability of the persons to whom the assignments are made. • May receive calls and find replacements or absent staff. • Transfers employees among units as needed. • Prepares performance evaluations with the understanding that such evaluations impact tenure of probationary employees and wage increases of non-probationary employees. • Disciplines employees up to and including discharge. • Adequately supervises assigned staff and assures that those staff are supervising employees assigned to them. • Approves the correction of errors in timecards or other timekeeping records. • Receives and resolves employee complaints. • Determines rotation of employees within the facility. • Monitors and corrects job performance of employees. • Uses independent judgment and discretion on behalf of the organization in the performance of these duties. Education and/or Experience: • A registered nurse with management or supervisor experience in long-term care or geriatric nursing. • Prior experience in staff development, education, or leadership preferred. • Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, state requirements, and long-term care standards. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: • Current state license to practice as a registered nurse. • Current CPR certification or CPR certification within 90 days of enrollment.
