Registered Nurse (RN) – Facial Plastic Surgery

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for patients with clinical questions

• Room and prepare patients for consultations and postoperative visits

• Assist the physician with patient consultations and examinations

• Provide preoperative patient education and instructions

• Guide patients through the postoperative recovery process and answer recovery-related questions

• Respond to patient clinical questions by phone, email, and electronic communication

• Remove sutures, dressings, and nasal splints as directed

• Prepare and provide preoperative and postoperative patient information

• Update and maintain accurate patient medical records in accordance with HIPAA requirements

• Prepare examination rooms and maintain clinical supplies

• Coordinate closely with the physician and other members of our small office team

• Assist with occasional front-office or administrative responsibilities as needed

This position does not involve operating-room nursing, surgical assisting, injections, IV therapy, or performing cosmetic procedures.

Schedule

• Full-time, 36 hours per week

• Monday–Thursday: 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

• Friday: 8:30 AM–12:30 PM

• No nights

• No weekends

• No holidays

• No call

• $40–$42 per hour , depending on experience

Qualifications

Required

• Active, unrestricted Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Minimum 2 years of professional RN experience

• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain BLS certification within 30 days of hire

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Professional, warm, and reassuring patient manner

• Comfortable communicating with patients in person, by telephone, and electronically

• Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn electronic medical record and office systems

Preferred

• Previous experience in an outpatient or private medical practice

• Experience in facial plastic surgery, plastic surgery, ENT, dermatology, or another surgical specialty

• Experience providing preoperative and postoperative patient education

This position may be particularly attractive to an experienced RN who enjoys patient care but is looking for a more personal and predictable alternative to hospital or shift-based nursing.
