The hospital based Wound Ostomy Continence (WOC) Nurse Leader collaborates with the inter professional team to provide clinical support, consultation and education related to patients with pressure injuries, wounds of other etiologies, ostomies and other selected disorders of the gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary systems. This collaboration supports and enhances the quality of care delivered and facilitates optimum development of nursing staff. The WOC nurse leader serves as a clinical resource and role model for nursing staff. Incorporates patient specific needs into planning and provision of care.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in nursing
  • 2 years acute care nursing experience
  • CT RN License
  • Board Certified in Wound, Ostomy and Continence
  • Masters in Nursing or APRN preferred
  • CT APRN License preferred
