About this role

The Registered Nurse is responsible for working with members of the healthcare team to help meet the needs of patients with health maintenance needs, various illnesses, injuries, or disabilities. This candidate will also be an integral part of establishing a new clinic within the South Omaha metropolitan area. This position is hourly, 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with only a few Saturdays for special community events, and no on-call shifts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with all members of the health care team regarding patients.
  • Conduct physical exam to assess patient health needs and problems.
  • Educate patients in health promotion, disease prevention, and health maintenance.
  • Assist patients with questions, concerns, and medical advice over the phone.
  • Triage patients in person or over the phone.
  • Educate patients and family members regarding their diagnosis, diagnostics (lab, Xray), medication(s), treatment/plan of care.
  • Document all medical information in the patient’s chart using the Electronic Health Records system.
  • Responsible for maintaining an active registered nurse license.
  • Participate in quality improvement, safety, infection control, peer review, and regulatory compliance.
  • Participate in development, implementation, and maintenance of policies, objectives, and agency short- and long-range planning.
