Summary

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive patient care during hospitalization by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, document care accurately, and ensure patient safety and comfort.

Key Responsibilities

Perform age-appropriate assessments, document findings, and reassess patient conditions regularly. Develop and evaluate individualized care plans incorporating evidence-based practices and physician orders. Administer medications, monitor IV therapies, and coordinate referrals and patient education.

Recognize clinical changes, implement timely nursing actions, and communicate effectively with team and families. Provide specialized care for high-risk patients, including restraint and pain management, and assess for abuse. Maintain accountability by adhering to policies, participating in quality improvement, and staying current with certifications.

Deliver compassionate, respectful service, ensuring patient privacy and addressing needs promptly. Foster a collaborative team environment, orient and mentor new staff, and communicate clearly during handoffs. Follow safety and infection control protocols, report risks, and complete mandatory training.

Qualifications & Skills

Valid RN license in applicable states, BLS certification, strong assessment, communication, and teamwork skills, and adaptability to changing demands. Physical ability for patient handling and work in a healthcare setting is required.
