About this role
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position in Hickory, NC, requiring 2+ years of ED experience and active ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and NIHSS certifications. Work setting is a 32-bed Emergency Department within a 355-bed Duke Lifepoint hospital. Patient population spans all ages (birth to death), including stroke, STEMI, and trauma cases. Patient ratios of 1:4 to 1:5. Charting is done in Cerner. Night shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. 36 hours per week on a 13-week contract. Rotating every other weekend required. On-call may involve push-back hours depending on census. Floating to other areas within demonstrated competencies may be required.
Requirements
Active NC or Compact RN license
Current AHA certifications: ACLS, PALS or ENPC, and NIHSS
Minimum 2 years of RN experience, preferably in a fast-paced ED setting
Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
Candidates must reside 60+ miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel pay rate
Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere
Cerner charting experience
