American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring 2+ years of ER experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • General Emergency Department serving combined adult/pediatric patients
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
  • 1:4 patient ratio
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of ER experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Current

certifications

BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS

  • Community and Level I/II Trauma hospital experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy/phlebotomy, arterial line management, and central line care
  • Experience caring for ventilated patients and interpreting ABGs
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and IV vasopressors
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Proficient in triage and isolation precautions/PPE
  • Copies of required certifications needed for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide emergency care including cardiac monitoring and emergency response
  • Full compliance required to start on time, as non-compliance results in a two-week delay due to biweekly orientation scheduling
  • Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, and all RTO must be finalized at time of submission
  • No RTO permitted during orientation week
  • Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day)
  • First-time travelers are not considered for this position
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
  • Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
  • Returning travelers who were previously unable to return to a facility must complete one successful assignment outside of Piedmont before rebooking
