About this role
The Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) Registered Nurse is responsible for coordinating and completing the preoperative assessment process for patients scheduled to undergo surgical or procedural interventions. The PAT RN ensures that patients are medically optimized and prepared for surgery by completing comprehensive nursing assessments, reviewing diagnostic testing, coordinating with physicians and ancillary departments, and providing patient education. The PAT RN plays a critical role in reducing surgical delays and cancellations by identifying potential clinical risks prior to the day of surgery and ensuring all required documentation, laboratory testing, and clearances are completed in advance.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, ADN required, BSN preferred. Minimum 2 years clinical nursing experience required. Experience in Pre-Admission Testing, Pre-operative nursing, PACU, Surgical Services, Critical Care, or Emergency Department strongly preferred. Active Florida RN License, BLS and ACLS required.
