Overview
This position is for an Inpatient Registered Nurse in the Pediatric PACU, responsible for providing comprehensive patient care, including assessments, treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies. The nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, formulates and updates care plans, and ensures patient and family education, discharge planning, and safety. They participate in quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, and unit decision-making to enhance care quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform assessments within scope of practice and standards
- Address physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families
- Develop and coordinate care plans, including education and discharge planning
- Administer treatments, medications, and diagnostic procedures
- Evaluate and modify interventions based on patient responses
- Collaborate with physicians and team members to meet patient needs
- Troubleshoot equipment and ensure safety protocols
- Participate in safety and quality improvement activities
