Overview
The Grand Pavilion for Rehabilitation and Nursing at Rockville Centre is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Registered Nurse to serve as our Infection Preventionist. This key role is responsible for leading and maintaining the facility’s Infection Prevention and Control Program, ensuring a safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors while maintaining full regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and oversee the Infection Prevention and Control Program Conduct ongoing infection surveillance, tracking, and data analysis Monitor and report infection trends, outbreaks, and key metrics Educate and train staff on infection control practices, including PPE, hand hygiene, and isolation protocols Ensure compliance with guidelines from CDC, CMS, OSHA, and the Department of Health Lead outbreak investigations and coordinate response efforts Perform regular audits and rounds to ensure adherence to infection control standards Maintain accurate documentation for regulatory surveys and internal reporting Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote a culture of safety and prevention
Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York Previous experience in infection control or a clinical leadership role in a skilled nursing facility preferred Strong knowledge of infection prevention practices and regulatory requirements Infection Preventionist certification (IP or CIC) preferred or willingness to obtain Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills Ability to educate and engage staff across all departments
