Job Overview
Harlem Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Wound Care Registered Nurse to join their dynamic healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering expert wound management and patient care in diverse clinical environments. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in wound care, critical care, and advanced nursing procedures, demonstrating a commitment to improving patient outcomes through specialized treatment plans.
*Responsibilities*
- Assess patients’ wounds thoroughly, including chronic and acute wounds, to determine appropriate treatment strategies.
- Develop and implement individualized wound care plans utilizing evidence-based practices and advanced techniques such as suturing and aseptic procedures.
- Administer treatments including dressings, debridement, and advanced therapies like botulinum toxin when indicated for wound management or related conditions.
- Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting care plans based on physiological responses and diagnostic evaluations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians specializing in ophthalmology, infectious disease, or trauma medicine—to optimize patient recovery.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation adhering to HIPAA regulations using EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for seamless record keeping.
*Requirements*
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license In the state of NY
- Current certification in one of the following: -Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) issued by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board (WOCNCB). -Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) issued by the WOCNCB. -Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN) issued by the WOCNCB. -Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) issued by the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM). -Wound Care Certified Certification (WCC) issued by the National Alliance of Wound Care and Ostomy (NAWCO).
- BLS Certification
- Two (2) years of Med/Surg experience. -Wound and Colostomy experience.
