About this role

As our Inpatient Registered Nurse, you will deliver high-quality, skilled nursing services to patients requiring hospitalization, guiding them toward optimal health and functional recovery. Every day you will assess patient needs, administer medications, perform treatments, and continuously monitor patient conditions. You will collaborate seamlessly with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans, always preparing patients and their families for a successful discharge, whether to home or to another setting for continued care.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate strong clinical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for every individual. Virginia Mason Franciscan Health provides a range of procedural specialty service lines. Some of our procedures include GI/Endo, Interventional Radiology, Cardiac Cath Lab, and Electrophysiology lab.

In this position the RN will be responsible for both Admit and recovery of patients undergoing these procedures. The PACU nurses are also responsible for the management and evaluation of post anesthesia and postoperative complications including pain and nausea. The Registered Nurse in PACU holds the autonomy to determine readiness for discharge from PACU based on PACU scoring criteria.

Seattle sits about 11% above the national average for cost of living—but post-shift Puget Sound ferry rides to Bainbridge, Capitol Hill's indie espresso bars, Fremont's Sunday market, and the Olympic Range on every western skyline offset the price tag. The drizzle is real. So are the mountain views from your hospital break room.

Worth asking

We can’t answer these from the listing we have. Good ones to ask a recruiter or in the interview.

  • Can you walk me through differentials?
  • What should I expect for shifts, weekly hours, weekend, holiday, call, and rotation?
  • What orientation, preceptor time, and ongoing unit support are included?
  • How are patient load, floating, and staffing support handled day to day?
