About this role
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for preparing the patient for surgery and providing post-operative care after surgery. Essential functions include utilizing the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating a plan of patient care; providing patient care including administering medication, performing procedures, and monitoring patient status; providing counsel and education to patient/family regarding surgical procedures, outcomes, preparation and follow-up; maintaining medical records; consulting with members of the health care team; assisting the health care provider with examinations, procedures, prescription refills; maintaining required skills and competencies; maintaining compliance with State, Federal and other regulations (OSHA, WC, HIPAA, ADA, FEHA, DOL); preparing for upcoming surgical procedures and ensuring the ASC has all necessary nursing supplies and equipment; working closely with Anesthesia in screening and communicating clearances; going through monthly outdates and medication recalls.

Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program
- 1-year experience working in outpatient/inpatient nursing
- Valid and current California RN License (Department Consumer Affairs)
- Valid BLS certificate (American Heart Association)
- Valid ACLS certificate (American Heart Association)
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience (desirable)
