American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring strong independent L&D skills and AWHONN fetal monitoring certification.

Details

  • Work in the Labor and Delivery unit on the 7th floor of the Main Tower
  • 11-bed unit with 34 staff members
  • Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 surgical tech, 4 RNs, and 1 ultrasound tech
  • Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 1 surgical tech, and 4 RNs
  • Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
  • Unit utilizes standard GE L&D fetal monitoring, wireless NOVII monitoring, and Baxter IV pumps
  • EMR systems used include Meditech Expanse and GE CPN Connect
  • Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Rotating weekend requirement
  • No on-call requirement

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Labor and Delivery experience required
  • Required

certifications

NRP (Advanced 9th Edition), BLS, ACLS, and AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced (or NCCEFM)

  • Strong independent L&D skills required, including cervical checks, OR circulator duties, IV starts, and medication management (oxytocin and magnesium)
  • Labor management experience required
  • Device placement experience (IUPC, FSE) preferred
  • Newborn transition experience preferred
  • US Social Security Number and date of birth required for consideration
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Perform labor management for vaginal and c-section deliveries
  • Support pre-op and PACU care as needed
  • Candidates should be open, friendly, and able to work independently while maintaining a team spirit
  • Scrub attire requirement: Royal Blue or OR scrubs
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility, as local candidates are not accepted
