Black Hills IV Wellness Spa | Rapid City, SD

Are you an experienced RN who loves nursing but is ready for something different than traditional bedside care?

This isn't traditional nursing.

You'll use your clinical skills in a positive, wellness-focused environment where you have time to educate guests, build relationships, and provide a personalized experience.

No 12-hour shifts. No nights. No Sundays.

Why You'll Love Working Here

We take our team environment seriously. We want Black Hills IV to be a place where people are positive, supportive, professional, and willing to help each other.

Our primary focus is wellness. Our guests come to us because they're actively investing in their health, giving you the opportunity to experience a different side of nursing—one centered around wellness, education, relationships, and helping people work toward their health goals.

We're looking for someone who wants to be part of that environment and grow with us.

Schedule

This is a full-time daytime position with a predictable rotating

schedule

Week 1: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM Week 2: Tuesday–Friday, 9:00 AM–4:00 PM + Saturday, 10:00 AM–3:00 PM

Then the rotation repeats.

You'll have Saturday and Sunday off one week and Sunday and Monday off the next.

  • No nights
  • No Sundays
  • No 12-hour shifts
  • Approximately 33–35 hours per week

Schedules may occasionally be adjusted based on business and staffing needs.

Compensation & Benefits

$30.00/hour + monthly incentive bonus opportunity

After successfully completing the 90-day introductory period, eligible employees have the opportunity to earn additional monthly performance incentives based on qualifying guest education and business growth.

Education always comes first. This is not a high-pressure sales environment, and clinical judgment and guest needs always come before any incentive.

Additional benefits include

  • Paid time off (PTO) eligibility after 90 days
  • Employee wellness benefits
  • Discounts on services and products
  • Ongoing education and training
  • Daytime schedule
  • Positive, team-focused work environment

What You'll Do

  • Perform thorough nursing assessments and determine guest appropriateness for services within established protocols
  • Start peripheral IVs confidently and efficiently
  • Administer IV therapy and other nursing services within your scope of practice and established protocols
  • Monitor guests throughout treatment and respond appropriately to changes in condition
  • Perform venipuncture and applicable nursing procedures
  • Educate guests about wellness services and available options
  • Build genuine relationships and provide an exceptional guest experience
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Follow clinical protocols, policies, infection-control practices, and safety standards
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, professional, and welcoming environment
  • Work collaboratively with the entire Black Hills IV team
  • Participate in ongoing education as our services continue to grow

What We're Looking For

Because our nurses frequently work independently and IV therapy is a significant part of what we do, strong assessment and IV insertion skills are essential for this position.

Minimum

Requirements

  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) to apply
  • Active, unrestricted South Dakota RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong nursing assessment skills
  • Strong peripheral IV insertion skills
  • Ability to recognize changes in a guest's condition and respond appropriately
  • Excellent communication and guest-education skills
  • Ability to work independently and use sound nursing judgment
  • Dependable, positive, and willing to continually learn and grow

Previous experience in IV therapy, infusion, emergency nursing, critical care, procedural nursing, or another area involving frequent IV insertion is preferred.

We're especially interested in nurses who are naturally positive, enjoy connecting with people, take initiative, and want to be part of a team—not simply come to work and complete a shift.

You don't need to know everything we do when you walk through the door. An interest in wellness and preventative health is a big plus, but we're looking for someone who's excited to learn.

Ready for Something Different?

There are a lot of places an experienced RN can work. Black Hills IV offers something different: daytime hours, a wellness-focused environment, meaningful relationships with guests, a positive team, and the opportunity to grow with a locally owned business.

We aren't simply looking to fill a nursing position. We're looking for the right person to become an important part of our team.

If you're an experienced RN who's ready for a change and this sounds like the kind of place you'd love to work, we'd really like to meet you.

Pay: $30.00 per hour Expected hours: 33.0 – 35.0 per week

Worth asking

The posting doesn’t answer these. Good ones to ask a recruiter or in the interview.

  • Can you walk me through base pay range and differentials?
  • What should I expect for holiday, call, and rotation?
  • What orientation, preceptor time, and ongoing unit support are included?
  • How are patient load, floating, and staffing support handled day to day?
