Summary

POSITION SUMMARY
Provides safe therapeutic care for the progressive care patient in a holistic and systematic way. Works cooperatively with the multidisciplinary team to maintain standards for professional nursing practice. Supports a culturally sensitive, individualized plan of care. Integrates knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum to include patient and family education. Utilizes standards, guidelines, protocols, or pathways for care delivery. Incorporates data and information to continuously improve care and practice to enhance outcomes. Administers medications according to standard nursing practice. Ensures improvements in practice settings by assuming responsibility for self-development.

Associate’s degree in nursing

Required Registration/License/Certification
Alabama Board of Nursing License
BLS obtained within 90 days of hire
ACLS obtained within 6 months of hire
NIHSS w/in 90 days of hire/transfer (EAH to assist with certification completion)

BSN
Preferred Experience
1 to 2 years of previous step-down or med/surg experience
Preferred Registration/License/Certification
PCCN/CCRN
