Scope will include Pre-Op and Post-Op recovery as well as additional sedated procedures as assigned. UPMC offers a robust Nursing Career ladder - Title and Rate of Pay will be based on Education & Experience Responsibilities: Use the nursing process within Relationship-Based Care to create a healing environment, set care goals, and address patients' clinical, social, and emotional needs. Participate in quality improvement efforts, identifying opportunities for improvement and enhancing patient satisfaction and care. Apply evidence-based practices to improve clinical care and patient outcomes. Communicate effectively with the care team and document patient information clearly. Build productive relationships with colleagues and patients, promoting teamwork, accountability, and work-life balance. Identify safety hazards and contribute to a positive work environment. Take responsibility for professional development, engage in unit-based goal setting, and support care team needs. Adapt to change and contribute to improving patient care and the practice environment. Apply adult learning principles in patient and family education, and support the development of students, new staff, and colleagues through mentorship and feedback Zero to two years of experience. BSN required. Previous Cardiac / Radiology / Prep or Recovery Nursing experience preferred. Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families. Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment, handle multiple/changing priorities and specialized equipment. Mobility and visual manual dexterity. Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting and positioning of patients. Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances: UPMC approved national certification preferred. Act 33 / 34 / 73 with renewal Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse either in the state where the facility is located or in a state covered by a licensure compact agreement with the state where the facility is located. Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Current licensure either in the state where the facility is located or, if the facility is in a state covered by the multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) agreement, a multistate license issued by a participating NLC state. Hires and current employees working on an out-of-state NLC license who later change their residency to the state where the facility is also located will have 60 days upon changing their residency to apply for licensure within that state.
