Position purpose
The Director of Nursing oversees and supervises all health programs and services in Elmwood Care Center, the skilled nursing facility. Works with the Elmwood Care Administrator in establishing policies and procedures in regard to Elmwood Care Center.
This Exempt position is Full-time, with minimum of 40 hours per week. Work hours and schedule shall remain flexible to meet the needs of the facility, its staff, operations, and community/industrial involvement. They should be available by phone 24/7 for emergencies. Benefits are available the first of the month following 60s days of employment.

Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
Ensures clinical systems are in place that result in quality and positive clinical outcomes. Works with Medical Director and/or appropriate physician in overall resident care. Monitors medication management with the assistance of consulting pharmacist. Assures Medical Record Audit Program is in place and being adhered so assure accuracy and completeness. Works with nursing staff and department heads in assessment of health, psychosocial, rehabilitation and environmental needs of community members. Be knowledgeable of emergency procedures and act in a calm manner when there is an emergency.

This Exempt position is Full-Time, with minimum of 40 hours per week. Work hours and schedule shall remain flexible to meet the needs of the facility, its staff, operations, and community/ industrial involvement. Should be available by phone 24/7 for emergencies.
Registered Nurse licensed in the Stated of California Experienced working in Skilled Nursing Facility Experienced in dealing and managing California Department of Public Health surveys. Able to professionally and confidently interact with Surveyors. Sufficient Knowledge of Minimum Data Set (MDS); Prospective Payment Systems (PPS); Title 22 Regulations and OBRA Regulations.
Excellent leadership in conducting Inter-disciplinary Team Meetings; Resident Care Plan Conferences; Behavior Management Meetings. Able to handle heavy caseload of skilled level of care residents; short-term stay residents; and high acuity residents.
