About this role

MUSC's Specialty Emergency Department is located in the state of the art Ashley River Tower in downtown Charleston. We utilize 21 private treatment spaces to serve the highly specialized needs of our patients. The defining characteristics of our staff are teamwork and innovation.

We work in a fast-paced environment taking care of patients whose acuity is almost double the national average. We specialize in Cardiothoracic Surgery, Left Ventricular Assistive Devices, Chest Pain, Vascular Surgery, Interventional Cardiology, GI Surgery, Hematology/Oncology, and Women's Services. Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse I (New Graduate) assists at the advanced beginner level in providing individualized, goal directed nursing care to patients and families utilizing principles and practices of the nursing process; interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired outcomes.

Requirements

  • RN License (South Carolina Board of Nursing or compact state)
  • BLS Certification (AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider)
  • Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred
  • Associate or Diploma degree in nursing required to enroll in accredited BSN program within two years and obtain BSN within four years
