Job summary
The Manager - Clinical at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for coordinating and managing the daily operations of a department/clinic, ensuring positive customer service and patient satisfaction, maintaining regulatory knowledge, and supervising the department/clinic staff. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to handle various challenges, including staffing, compliance, and budgetary issues. As a manager of people, this role is responsible for supervising a team and optimizing operations within a designated department or area, ensuring productivity and effective team management.
Job functions
Management
- Coordinates and manages the daily operations of a clinical department/clinic.
- Coaches and assists team members.
- Assists in hiring applicants.
- Assists in evaluating staff.
- Develops and implements policy and procedure guidelines for the department/clinic.
- Manages payroll for clinic/department.
Customer Service
- Ensures that a positive working relationship exists with physicians, patients, families and other staff in order to promote positive customer service and patient satisfaction.
Performance Competency
- Maintains competency by attending required in-services, annual review, earns at least 8 contract hours per year.
Regulatory Knowledge
- Understands and practices standards of care, policies and procedures established by the deparment/clinic.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate's Degree Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, required. Required
Licenses and Certifications
- RN - Registered Nurse - State Licensure and/or Compact State Licensure. Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse by the State of Mississippi,. Upon Hire. Required
Work Experience
- 4-6 years. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Registered Nurse or Pre-Op ACLS with Certification required. Required
- 1-3 years. Minimum of 2 years management/supervisory experience. Preferred
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
- Must have planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work well within a team oriented structure
- Must have daily interaction with patients, families, clinical staff, physicians, and other support staff
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be courteous and professional
