About this role
Position
Summary
The Nurse Manager assumes 24-hour responsibility and accountability for resident care on an assigned unit. This role supervises licensed nurses and direct care staff, ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, and promotes resident-centered care consistent with facility philosophy and standards of nursing practice.
Key
Responsibilities
- Supervise and evaluate nursing staff performance on assigned unit.
- Ensure care plans are implemented and updated based on resident needs.
- Monitor documentation for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Respond to resident/family concerns and ensure dignity and resident rights are respected.
- Support survey readiness and quality assurance activities.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary care and participate in care planning meetings.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong clinical assessment and supervisory skills.
- Knowledge of CMS/state regulations and SNF standards.
- Effective communication and documentation abilities.
- Organizational and time management skills.
Required
- Graduate of accredited nursing program with current RN or LPN license in Michigan.
- 2+ years of long-term care or skilled nursing experience.
Preferred
- Prior leadership experience as Charge Nurse or Supervisor.
Physical & Work Requirements Ability to lift 80
- 300 lbs with assistance/equipment.
- Frequent standing, walking, and responding to emergencies.
